This Spring become a locavore!
As we approach May, another growing season for farmers, Futurewise would like to thank our participating local and sustainable farmers for supporting our "Feast with Friends" event.
Please help us thank them by patronizing your local farmer's market.
Buying produce from your communities' local and 'sustainable' farmers will greatly aid your local economy, prevent urban sprawl, and reduce carbon footprint.
2008 Legislative Session:
Our legislative bill, "Local Solutions to Global Warming", has been signed into law!
For their time and great effort; Futurewise would like to recognize the following local Spokane officials:Our greatly esteemed prime sponsor Chris Marr, Senator Lisa Brown, Mayor Mary Verner, County Comissioner Bonnie Mager, Coucilpersons Richard Rush and Brian Sayrs.
Futurewise would also like to thank our members and supporters for taking action when public input was most crucial. Supporters and members were responsive throughout the "heated" floor-debates and challenging veto pressures from Special Interestes. We Thank You!
Local Solutions to Global Warming:
Spokane's own Senator Chris Marr was prime sponsor for this visionary legislation that will help local governments address climate change. See our current newsletter or click here for details! Contact kitty@futurewise.org to find out how you can help!Volunteer!
