Town of Hamilton Comprehensive Subarea Plan and Urban Growth Area Expansion


The Skagit County Planning and Development Services Department has released for public review and comment the Town of Hamilton Comprehensive Subarea Plan and Urban Growth Area Expansion Proposal on Thursday, December 27, 2007.  The Department will accept written comments on the Proposal through Friday, February 29, 2008. 

A public hearing will be held before the Skagit County Planning Commission on Tuesday, March 4, 2008.

Skagit County Planning Commission Seeks Applicants for 2nd District Seat


The Skagit County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Skagit County Planning Commission. Applicants must live within County Commissioner District 2 (for boundaries, see map below or online at www.skagitcounty.net.)


    * The Planning Commission consists of nine members, three from each County Commissioner District. Planning Commission terms are four years.

    * The Planning Commission advises the Board of County Commissioners and the Planning and Development Services Department on the direction of future growth and development in unincorporated Skagit County.

    * Planning Commission members attend an average of one meeting per month (more frequently during especially busy periods). Meetings last approximately three hours and are held in the evening. Additional preparation time is required.

    * Planning Commission service is unpaid; however, members may obtain reimbursement for travel expenses to and from meetings.

    * The Board of County Commissioners expects to make an appointment in early 2008 for immediate service.
