Feast with Friends Twice the Fun
What could be better than a progressive food and wine tasting that uses locally grown ingredients to highlight the importance of protecting working family farms right here in Washington?
How about two great events, each with their own crew of chefs, winemakers and farmers, that celebrate our diverse food culture while also bringing responsible land use to the forefront. Protecting Washington’s rural character and farming as a way of life is important not only to the state economy but sets an important example of how supporting sustainable practices can reduce pollution, cut back transportation time and costs, and can introduce seasonal, fresh, produce to your household diet.
The second annual Seattle Feast with Friends was held at Kaspars Special Events on Thursday, September 27th, 2007. The venue at Kaspars Special Events was warm, inviting and intimate with edible décor of apples, squash and other fall produce grown from Chef/Owner Kaspar’s very own farm. Guests had the opportunity to meet the chefs and winery representatives. The farmers were also on hand to take part in the bounty and see how their product donation was reinvented as a chef masterpiece.
This year we were pleased to have an outstanding menu prepared by guest chefs from Carmelita, Herban Feast Catering, I Love Thai Cooking, Kaspars Special Events & Catering, Lark, Rays Boathouse, and Sip.
Special thanks to our Seattle Sponsors: Kaspars Special Events & Catering and Pioneer Organics.
Eastern Washington also had their very first annual Feast with Friends at The MAC in Spokane. This fundraiser took place on September 26th, 2007 and was heralded a smashing success! Guests found themselves surrounded by dozens of tantalizing dishes made by chefs from Cafe MAC by D’Zaar, Catacombs, Great Harvest Bread Co., Lovitt Restaurant, Luna, Meritage/Vin Rouge, Picabu Bistro, and Wild Sage. Tickets were a hot item
and it wasn’t long before the Spokane Feast was sold out.
Special thanks to our Spokane Sponsors: New Priorities Foundation, One World Design Architecture, Pacificad, The Pacific Northwest Inlander, The Klitzke Family, and Paul and Lorna Kropp.
All of this would not have been possible without our event sponsors, hosts, participants, volunteers and Futurewise supporters at both events! Planning is already underway for next year’s event, so stay tuned for future announcements.
